Trip Itinerary

Day 1 - Cape Town

From the quirky penguins at Boulders Beach, to the Table Mountain aerial cableway and to Robben Island, Cape Town is worthy of at least a couple of days to take in all that it has to offer.

Day 2 - 102km - Cape Town to Gansbaai

This trip takes you through the famous Stellenbosch wine country. With over 100 wine cellars surrounding the town there will be lots of opportunities to buy local produce. Gansbaai was once a sleepy fishing village but has become a thriving tourist hotspot. The big attraction is the population of great white sharks and whales.

A place to stay: Stranskloof Caravan Park

Day 3 - 200km - Gansaabi to Mossel Bay

The journey today goes through Boosmansbos Wilderness Area. This is a hikers paradise and its virtually imperative to go off the beaten track, in fact you are welcome to beat your own path if you wish! Mossel Bay is eqi-distant from Cape Town and Port Elizabeth, 400km each way. Activities in the area include abseiling, scuba-diving and dolphin watching.

Day 4 - 130km - Mossel Bay to Tsitskamina National Park

Tsistkamina is known for its forests, coastline and its Otter hiking trail. This trail is regarded as one of the finest in the world. Walking the entire trail takes 4 days.

Day 5 - 120km - Tsitskamina National Park to Port Elizabeth

Famous for its beaches, surf-spots and water-sports, Port Elizabeth is also one of the biggest cities in South Africa. From here you can leave your motorhome and fly to Johannesburg. Alternatively, you can continue your drive northwards.
